This guide aims to help you optimize the functionality of PerfectBot within the Gorgias widget. We'll provide you with the necessary steps to configure widget settings efficiently. Remember - PerfectBot can become fully operational only after correctly configuring your chat widget.


Set up business hours ⏲

As PerfectBot provides 24/7 customer support, it's essential to configure your business hours accordingly.

βœ‹ Important: Setting up your business hours for the AI bot to function correctly is crucial. If this setting is not configured, the bot will stay silent during your non-operational hours.


Set availability to β€œAlways live” πŸ‘β€πŸ—¨

Once your business hours are set to 24/7, switch the live chat availability to β€œAlways live during business hours”. That’s right, your bot never sleeps!

Set up Email capture as an option πŸ“§

Requiring customers to give their email before starting a chat can discourage them. Instead, we suggest making email capture optional, so customers can choose to provide their email if they prefer to be contacted that way.

Disable redundant functions

Once your chatbot is ready to reply to your clients’ open-ended questions, it is time to disable some Gorgias functions, which would only complicate the UX, without adding value to the end user.

Turn off the ticket-assignment rule 🎫

The PerfectBot should take over all new, unassigned tickets - and act as a first line of contact. In the β€œChannels” section, remove [x] all the channels where the chatbot is active.
